ABOUT THE COURSE

Designed for all radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and other specialists interested in the diagnosis and management of oncology, the eleventh annual ICIS course will focus on the clinical role of new imaging techniques in patients with cancer that will aid clinical decision–making and improve outcomes.


SPECIAL FOCUS SESSIONS will cover a wide range of cancers, including prostatic carcinoma, head & neck neoplasms, paediatric oncological imaging, lung cancer screening, and pelvic malignancies as well as post–treatment imaging, imaging in radiation oncology, the value of FDG PET/CT in oesophageal cancer, MRI–guided high intensity focused ultrasound ablation of breast cancer, and contrast–enhanced ultrasound in oncology.

KEYNOTE LECTURES will address the important issues of whether imaging can help improve survival of cancer patients, and the integration of morphological and functional imaging in assessment to response.

A FILM INTERPRETATION SESSION with two teams of recognised experts will offer insight into oncologic imaging.

SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS dedicated to proffered papers will present the latest research in the field.

POSTER SESSIONS with a prize awarded for the best overall paper and poster.

WORKSHOPS for smaller groups will focus on a variety of clinical topics.

"HANDS–ON" WORKSHOPS will give registrants the opportunity to gain practical skills dedicated to advanced prostate MRI, breast MRI and whole body diffusion MRI.

A WELCOME RECEPTION will be held at the close of lectures on Monday at the beautiful City Hall, with the course dinner held at The Marriott Hotel on Tuesday.

The International Cancer Imaging Society Meeting & 11th Annual Teaching Course is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The Society Meeting & 11th Annual Teaching Course is designated for a maximum of 17 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.
