Overview
The theme of ICIS SGCR-WIRES 2024, ‘Illuminating Cancer Care’ focussed on the evolving role of imaging and intervention in modern clinical practice, in an era of breakthroughs in the understanding of carcinogenesis and major developments in cancer treatment and precision medicine. The faculty consisted of ICIS Fellows and local / regional colleagues, all experts in this specialist field, with extensive knowledge and experience of clinical practice and cutting-edge research to share with international colleagues.

Learning Objectives
- To understand the pivotal role of cancer imaging and intervention in diagnosis, staging and management
- To appreciate the evolving role of cancer imaging in modern clinical practice, in particular with respect to precision oncology, use of cancer biomarkers, integrated diagnostics and digital oncology/artificial intelligence
- To demonstrate the role and significance of intervention in the cancer patient pathway, and enhance clinical decision-making in interventional radiology
- To improve clinical reporting skills through interactive case-based workshops
- To embrace technological advances in imaging and interventional tools and their impact on cancer treatment and management
- To highlight global perspectives of radiology workforce and education outreach to low-middle income countries
- To review recent research findings and innovations in the field of interventional radiology
