Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for accessing and using the International Cancer Imaging Society’s (“ICIS”) website, www.icimagingsociety.org.uk (“our site”). This AUP applies to all visitors and users of our site and supplements our Terms and Conditions.
By using our site, you agree to comply with this policy.

Prohibited uses
You may use our site only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Breach any local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activity, including attempts to harm minors.
- Upload, transmit, or share material that violates our Content Standards.
- Send unsolicited advertising, promotional material, or spam.
- Transmit viruses, malware, spyware, adware, or any harmful code.
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, or resell any part of our site in violation of our Terms and Conditions.
- Access, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any part of our site, associated networks, software, or third-party systems.
Interactive services
From time to time, ICIS may provide interactive services, including:
- Event booking
- Members’ forum
Where interactive services are provided, we will clearly describe:
- The type of service
- Whether the service is moderated, and if so, how (human or automated moderation)
We will assess potential risks, particularly to children, and may moderate content accordingly. However, ICIS is not obliged to monitor or moderate all user activity and excludes liability for content posted in violation of our standards.
Moderated services will include contact details for moderators to report concerns.
Content standards
All content you contribute (“contributions”) must comply with the spirit and letter of these standards and any specific standards applicable to parts of our site. Contributions must:
- Be accurate (facts) and genuinely held (opinions)
- Comply with UK law and laws in the jurisdiction from which they are posted
Contributions must not:
- Be defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory
- Promote sexually explicit content, violence, or discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
- Infringe copyright, trademarks, or database rights
- Mislead or deceive others
- Breach any legal duty to a third party
- Advocate illegal activity, harassment, or invasion of privacy
- Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation
- Suggest content originates from ICIS if it does not
- Promote unlawful acts such as copyright infringement or computer misuse
Suspension and termination
ICIS may determine, at its discretion, whether a breach of this AUP has occurred. Possible actions include:
- Temporary or permanent withdrawal of site access
- Removal of content or material you have posted
- Issuing warnings
- Legal proceedings for reimbursement of costs, including administrative and legal expenses
- Reporting to law enforcement authorities
- Disciplinary action under ICIS rules or applicable law
ICIS excludes liability for actions taken in response to breaches of this policy. We may take any other action deemed appropriate in response to violations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP at any time by publishing a revised version on this page. You are responsible for reviewing this page periodically to ensure you are aware of any updates. Some provisions may also be superseded by notices elsewhere on our site.
