This second edition online Masterclass in Imaging of Prostate Cancer is a highly commended one-day teaching course which will highlight current imaging techniques, image interpretation and pitfalls in imaging prostate cancer.

Learning objectives for this course:

  • To understand the prostate patient’s journey from suspected cancer to the advanced disease state using the framework of definable clinical states.
  • To know in detail the pathologic states, problems of categorisation and clinical needs of patients in each clinical state in the prostate cancer pathway.
  • To understand how imaging can help meet clinical priorities and so promote the personalisation of care in the advancing prostate cancer pathway.
  • To show how next generation prostate imaging (multiparametric MRI & MR-directed biopsies) and whole body assessments (whole body MRI & PET/CT) with clinical biomarkers, create opportunities to support and refine management pathways of patients.

Programme and Faculty

  • mpMRI-MR directed biopsies: what to do with positive & negative cases - Prof. Jurgen J. Fütterer*, Radboud University Medical Center, Nijmegen
  • mpMRI: how to do it and read it - Dr Tristan Barrett, Addenbrooke’s Hospital, University of Cambridge
  • Risk-based staging management of prostate cancer - Prof. Giuseppe Petralia, European Institute of Oncology, University of Milan
  • Recurrence and advanced disease - Prof. Anwar Padhani*, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, London

A stimulating and engaging learning experience – reviewing cases with the experts!

The online ICIS Interactive series is designed as an advanced cancer imaging course for Radiologists, who would like to gain deeper understanding into the imaging of specific cancers through case-based learning. The courses in this series have been rated excellent by many participants.

This one-day online masterclass comprises four sessions, as outlined in the programme. Presentation of each topic will commence with a lecture followed by mentored review of 8-10 carefully selected cases to facilitate hands-on case-based learning.

Delegates are advised to use two screens on the day, which can be a PC and tablet/laptop. As this is an interactive course, we ask that you join using a device with a camera to achieve the optimal experience.

A comprehensive workbook to reinforce learning is provided to guide participants through the cases, with each case chosen to illustrate specific learning points. In advance of the course we will courier a printed & bound copy of the workbook, for you to work through.

By the end of the course, all participants will have benefitted from mentored case-based learning of 35 - 40 cases, each chosen with specific learning points.

All delegates will be emailed a CPD certificate on completion of the course.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

There are only 22 places available for this online course so book early to avoid disappointment!

Participants must have access to two screens for the duration of the course. As this is an interactive course, we ask that you join using a device with a camera to achieve the optimum experience. Options include two screens linked to a computer (desktop / laptop) or a single screen on a computer (desktop / laptop) and an additional separate mobile device (e.g. computer tablet). We recommend a minimum desktop screen size of 22” (ideally 1920x1080 HD) for the image viewing platform, while the other (potentially smaller) device will provide interactive dialogue using Zoom.

For viewing all cases, participants will receive a unique URL and personalised login credentials to access the online portal. The portal uses sophisticated browser-based technology, works with a very broad selection of Operating Systems and devices, and allows for complete access with zero install footprint.

A broadband connection (rather than WiFi) is strongly recommended with a minimum connection of 8 Mbps to access the Application Portal. The portal will work with any operating system capable of running HTML5-enabled browsers including, but not limited to:

  • Chrome
  • Safari
  • Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11

Concurrently, Zoom will be used to deliver the introductory lecture for each of the four topics, and will enable interaction with faculty members throughout the whole course. Additional minimum bandwidth of 4 Mbps is recommended for Zoom, i.e. a combined non-shared bandwidth of 12 Mbps should provide a requisite learning experience.

Online technical support will be available throughout the course, with a dedicated technical support session at the start of the course to ensure connectivity. Attendance during the technical support session is imperative; if we discover that your connectivity is not satisfactory, you may not be able to participate in the course.

If you are concerned that your bandwidth connection speed is not sufficient, we can provide testing access to a remote system as part of the pre-event support. A guide to your bandwidth information can be checked using a quick speed test, e.g.  https://fast.com

This course provides 7 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists, UK.

All delegates will be emailed a CPD certificate of attendance on completion of the course.
